Mr. California plays basketball

"And the first pick in the CBBL (Chipmunk Basketball League) is... Mr. California!" Larry Chipmunk yelled. "This is such an honor! I've always dreamed of being the first pick in the CBBL. It was just an honor to go to Chipconsin for college!" Exclaimed Mr. CA. "Mr. Ca was the first pick in the CBBL draft yesterday" stated the Chippaper. "It is very exciting for me to have my blog mascot picked first in the CBBL draft! It will lead to amazing posts on my blog!" I exclaimed.

The tip off... the Chippers win the tip off. "I think the Chippers will win because of their sensational rookie Mr. CA." stated Magic Johnson. The Chippers are beating the Chippets 30-27 after the first quarter! Three seconds left in the third quarter. Three! Two! One! Mr. CA throws it up. It is good. Chippers 79, Chippets 78. Five seconds remaining in the game. Timeout Chippers! The Chippets are winning 103-100. Five! Four! Three! Two! Mr. CA shoots the three. And one! Mr. CA makes the free throw with one second left giving the Chippers the lead by one! Ms. Oregon shoots! She misses! The Chippers win 104-103! One of the greatest CBBL finals is over.

Here are the season awards:

CBBL team: Mr. CA, Mr. NY, Ms. Oregon, Mr. Arizona, Chip!

Mr. CA

Hi! My name is Mr. California. My friend Jaden decided to pick me as his blog mascot. It is an honor to be writing a post on Jaden's Awesome Blog! Hopefully I will be able to post a lot on this blog. My hobbies are playing basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, and tennis. I also like drawing, reading and blogging. Most of all, I enjoy being the new mascot for Jaden's Awesome Blog. I am a chipmunk. My tail is black and brown and my body is white, black, and brown. My friends are Mr. NY from Brothers' Blog, Leo from 2KM and 2KJ, Bunny from Grace on the Go, Juan Pablo from Mr. Salsich's class, Snowflake from BB's Awesome Blog, and Panda from Mrs. Yollis' class. I hope we get a lot of quality comments from them!

Clippers vs. Mavericks

Last Wednesday, I went to a basketball game. The Los Angeles Clippers played against the Dallas Mavericks. When the first quarter ended the Clippers were winning 28-23. After the first half the Mavericks were winning 48-46. The Mavericks were winning 75-70 after the third quarter. The final score was Mavericks 106, Clippers 100. How many points did each team score in the third quarter? J.J Barea from the Mavericks scored 22 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, had 6 assists, and took away 2 steals. Blake Griffin from the Clippers scored 25 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, got 3 assists, and took away 3 steals.

NBA Allstar Jam

On February 19, I went to the NBA Allstar Jam. The NBA is the biggest basketball league in North America! At the NBA Allstar Jam there are a bunch of games and things to look at. Some of the things to look at are basketball games, the basketball hall of fame, video games, and stuff in the shop. Their are people who sign autographs there. I got an autograph from Wesley Johnson. They gave out a bunch of cards. The cards were my favorite card brand called Panini. Panini sells basketball, football and hockey cards. My dad and I saw the NBA D-league allstar game. The NBA D-league is for basketball players who are not good enough to play in the NBA.

Here are some pictures from the NBA D-league allstar game:

Make a story

Welcome back to Jaden's Awesome Blog! For two weeks, you will be able to make a story on my blog. The stories that follow the rules below will be published on my blog on Tuesday, March 1. To enter, leave a comment and in it, write your story. Remember, you will not get handed a prize. The prize is that your story will be published here on March 1st!

Rules:

1. Use at least 1 compound sentence.

2. Have 8 or more sentences in your story.

3. It is okay to use dialogue, but add some narration too. (Example of dialogue from Seal Surfer: "Look, Grandad!" Ben cried. "The seal is injured.")

4. Good stories usually have a beginning, a middle, and a fantastic end.

To kick things off, here is a story that I wrote:

  • First I brainstormed some characters and their personalities. Jack is a third grade boy who knows a lot of facts about sports. His friend, Jason, knows a lot of facts about presidents. Here is the story of their disagreement.

* * * * *

"Books about sports are way better than books about presidents!" exclaimed Jack.

"No, books about presidents are best," remarked Jason.

The boys had been arguing for hours. Jason said, "No to sports books". Jack said," No to president books". Then Jack's mom said it was time to go to sleep. Jack's mom didn't know anything about the fight, so she didn't know that she might just be better off bringing Jason home. In the morning they fought for a couple hours. "How about we just say sports books are not better than presidents books and presidents books are not better than sports books!" exclaimed Jason. "Ok" sighed Jack. They were friends again and both of them were happy. They realized that it is okay for people to still be friends when they don't share the same opinions!

97th Rose Bowl: My 1st Rose Bowl

Yesterday, I went to the Rose Bowl with my dad. We went because my parents went to Wisconsin for college. Wisconsin was playing against TCU. Wisconsin is ranked the 5th best college football team in the USA. TCU is ranked the 3rd best college football team. At the beginning, people from the Navy flew down the coin for the coin toss and the game ball. TCU won the coin toss and selected to defend so Wisconsin got the ball first. Then the 97th Rose Bowl game began. After the 1st quarter, TCU was winning 14-10. At the end of the 1st half, TCU was winning 14-13. At the end of the 3rd quarter, TCU was winning 21-13. TCU won 21-19. Here are three ways Wisconsin could of won. The kicker could of made a field goal in the middle of the game. They could of made the 2-point conversion with 2 minutes left and won in overtime. Special teams could of recovered the onside kick and scored a touchdown or made a field goal. Some of Wisconsin's players were Tolzien, Ball, Clay, White and Toon. Some of TCU's players were Dalton and Curley. Here are some pictures from the Rose Bowl.

On November 11, I got 50 comments on my welcome post!

I thought we should do something special since it was my first post ever. My mom said that we could have cookies. Right when I got home from my karate class, my mom started making the cookies. I was watching TV since I had a sore back from sparring my sensei. Sparring is fighting lightly with pads on. After a little while, the cookies were ready! My mom over cooked them. It did not make a difference to how it tasted.

My sister and I had chocolate chip cookies and my mom had a cranberry cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. I got two cookies, my sister got two cookies and my mom got two cookies. The cookies were very good!

Blog owners, have you ever gotten 50 or more comments on one post?

Did you celebrate?

Does anyone like my welcome post more than any of my other posts? Why?

Lakers vs. Warriors

On November 21, I went to a Lakers game. They were playing against the Golden State Warriors. We had special parking, but it still took a long time to get there because they were just ending the MTV music awards and the L.A auto show was starting near the Staples Center. My dad got us great seats because he got them from the company he works for. At the game, we saw my dad's friend Albert. Albert sat right next to us with his friend. At the end of the first quarter, the score was something like 30-17 Lakers. After the second quarter, it was about 60-30 Lakers. When the third quarter was over, it was around 80-55. At the end of the game, the Lakers won by about 30 points. In my opinion, a reason the Warriors lost was because they were fooling around before the game. I think another reason was because David Lee was hurt. The Lakers got over 100 points so I got 2 free tacos from Jack in the Box and my dad got two free tacos from Jack in the Box. It was also Chick Hearn day so we each got our very own Chick Hearn paperweights! Here is a picture of me at the Lakers game:

Karate Test

On Saturday, I had a belt test at my karate.  I do a style that combines Shotokan and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Right now, we are doing a big kata.  It is called the Thunder Kata.  I tested for my 2nd brown belt. Here is a picture of my 2nd brown belt:

I have been doing karate for around four years.  Here is the story of how I became an expert at karate:

One day, my mom asked me if I wanted to do karate.  At that point, I was only four years old.  Before I started karate, my mom and I had been walking in and looking at kids do karate.  Then I took a free trial class.  I really liked it so I kept on going.

My sensei's were sensei Tom and sensei Andy.  I really liked sensei Tom because he really tried hard to teach you karate and he only played games if we were doing our best.  I learned that the #1 rule in karate is always try your best.  I liked sensei Andy because if we did good for about 20 minutes we would be able to play games for 25 minutes.

I went to karate with my friends:  Kelly, Ethan, Deven, Dylan and Wyatt. Deven and I are the only ones who still go to karate.  One day, I went to karate with my friend Dylan and there was a new sensei named sensei Trever.  I was sad that sensei Tom and sensei Andy left but now I am happy that sensei Trever came.  Also, sensei Romel came.  He quit after about a year because he is on someTV shows.  Along the way, my senseis Eric, Brandon and Leandro joined the dojo.  Now after 4 years, I just got my 2nd brown belt.  At my dojo, the belt order goes:  white, yellow, orange, blue, purple, green, 1st red, 2nd red, 3rd red, 1st brown, 2nd brown, 3rd brown, black, 2nd black.

Do you do karate?

Do you like karate?

How long have you been doing karate?

What belt are you?

New House and New School

This year I moved to a new house and a new school. At first, I was a little sad because now I do not go to the same school as my friends. One of my best friends also moved to a new school so I felt a little better about moving.

I like my new house because there is more space to play outside. We live on a private hill. I am happy that now I have my own pool. After a couple days, we saw a deer in our backyard. Here is a picture:

At my new school, I was a little worried because I only knew a few people. Very quickly, I made a lot of new friends. After a few weeks, I was able to show an even newer student around. I think I was lucky to get Mrs. Yollis as my teacher. I have liked computers since I was 2. Since she teaches about blogging, she was the perfect teacher for me.

Have you ever moved to a new house or started a new school?
How did you feel about moving or starting a new school?
Have you ever had any interesting animals at your house?
