97th Rose Bowl: My 1st Rose Bowl

Yesterday, I went to the Rose Bowl with my dad. We went because my parents went to Wisconsin for college. Wisconsin was playing against TCU. Wisconsin is ranked the 5th best college football team in the USA. TCU is ranked the 3rd best college football team. At the beginning, people from the Navy flew down the coin for the coin toss and the game ball. TCU won the coin toss and selected to defend so Wisconsin got the ball first. Then the 97th Rose Bowl game began. After the 1st quarter, TCU was winning 14-10. At the end of the 1st half, TCU was winning 14-13. At the end of the 3rd quarter, TCU was winning 21-13. TCU won 21-19. Here are three ways Wisconsin could of won. The kicker could of made a field goal in the middle of the game. They could of made the 2-point conversion with 2 minutes left and won in overtime. Special teams could of recovered the onside kick and scored a touchdown or made a field goal. Some of Wisconsin's players were Tolzien, Ball, Clay, White and Toon. Some of TCU's players were Dalton and Curley. Here are some pictures from the Rose Bowl.

It was so awesome going to the Rose Bowl with you. The first time I went to the Rose Bowl was in 1994 when Wisconsin beat UCLA. I wish Wisconsin could have won this year but the experience of attending with you was more important than any win.

Dear Jaden,

I have been to a football game. It was in Chicago. I was with my grandpa and my brother. I have question for you. Have you ever wanted to go a football game in Chicago? Was it college/pro? Do you want to know what I saw?

Dear Jaden,

We have never been to a football game but we watch it on T.V. at home with our dads. We would really like to go to a football game. Our favorite team is USC.

Is this your first Rose Bowl game?

Dear Jaden,

Thank you for the amazing post on the Rose Bowl! I have never been to a college or national football game, but I have been to a high school game a couple times. I am not a huge football fan, but I am a huge soccer fan. I also love watching football with my family on the weekends.

Do you want to go to the next Rose Bowl?

Sincerely,
Im★n

Dear Jaden,

Thanks for a wonderful description of your trip to the Rose Bowl! I almost feel like I was there!

You mentioned that Navy flew the opening coin in. What do you mean? How did that happen?

Are your parent originally from the state of Wisconsin?

When I looked at the photo you included of you standing at the stadium, I thought...wow, that's a lot of people!

What would be a good benchmark number to estimate the number of attendees at the game? 25, 100, or 1,000? Do you know the actual attendance?

Your pal,
Mrs. Y♥llis

Dear Jaden,

What a great experience! You are very lucky to go to the Rose Bowl - "the grandaddy of all bowl games." I bet your parents and you were a little disappointed that Wisconsin lost, but at least it was an exciting game.

I have never been to a bowl game, but I did watch a college football game at the University of Connecticut. They were playing Boston College and they lost but it was still a lot of fun.

Keep up the great blogging!

From,
Mr. Salsich

Dear Jaden,

I think it is interesting that you have been to a rose bowl because it is such a big game in history of college football. I have never wished to go to a collage football but I have wished to see the Cincinnati Bengals play the New England Patriots and crush them. By the way, Witch NFL football team do you like?

Sincerely,
Tyler in Mr. Salsich's class.

P.S I am a Bengals fan.

Dear Dad,

Thank you for taking me to the Rose Bowl. It was a great experience. I can't believe the first time you went to a Rose Bowl was 8 years before I was born.

Dear Misha,

It is really fun to go to a football game. I've never been to Chicago, but my dad is going in a few months. I have never wanted to go to see a football game in Chicago. I would like to know more about the game.

Dear Miriam, Kristen, and Adia,

Usually when I watch a football game it is on TV and I am watching with my dad. I like UCLA more than USC.

Dear Iman,

I have been to high school and college football games, but have never gone to an NFL game. People can tell you are a huge soccer fan. I really want to go to the next Rose Bowl.

Dear Jaden,

My name is Kristan and I am studying at the University of South Alabama to become a teacher. Since you are such a star-blogger, my teacher insisted I visit your awesome blog. I have read through all of your blog post and have realized you are a wonderful reporter! Have you considered a career in Broadcast Journalism? You would be a great sports reporter!

I bet it was a very fun experience to go to the Rose Bowl. I have been to several college football games at the University of Alabama and Auburn University. I am a huge Crimson Tide fan, and I have never been to an Alabama game and seen them lose. It's fun to watch your favorite team on television, but nothing beats the feeling of being in that stadium, does it?

I have never been to a bowl game, but I wanted more than anything to attend the BCS National Championship game in 2009 when Alabama played and beat Texas 37-21. I have several t-shirts with that score on it. Even though I have not been to the Rose Bowl, I did watched the 97th Rose Bowl that you attended on T.V. I was pulling for Wisconsin! Maybe they'll get them next time.

Are there any other sports you like to watch?

I also would like to say it is awesome your blog has a mascot! I'm thinking I'll let my little stuffed lamb be my mascot. Her name is Betty. She is white and always has a smile on her face.

I look forward to seeing many more post from you, Jaden. Keep up your superb work! If you would like to visit my blog it is steelekristanedm310.blogspot.com.

Sincerely,
Kristan
