Mr. CA

Hi! My name is Mr. California. My friend Jaden decided to pick me as his blog mascot. It is an honor to be writing a post on Jaden's Awesome Blog! Hopefully I will be able to post a lot on this blog. My hobbies are playing basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, and tennis. I also like drawing, reading and blogging. Most of all, I enjoy being the new mascot for Jaden's Awesome Blog. I am a chipmunk. My tail is black and brown and my body is white, black, and brown. My friends are Mr. NY from Brothers' Blog, Leo from 2KM and 2KJ, Bunny from Grace on the Go, Juan Pablo from Mr. Salsich's class, Snowflake from BB's Awesome Blog, and Panda from Mrs. Yollis' class. I hope we get a lot of quality comments from them!
Here is a picture of me:

Does your blog have a mascot?

If so, what is your mascot?

Dear Mr. CA,

Wow! You must be excited to be Jaden's blog mascot! Of course, you have met me because you mentioned me in your post. What a nice name you have! I am guessing you live in California.

What is your favorite food? Mine is flowers with corn on top. Many piggy bank tease me because I eat flowers, but I do not think it's unusual. My favorite color is... Uh-Oh. I should not tell you because my next post might be, My Favorites! I would really like to get in touch with you, and maybe we can get a conversation going.

I also enjoy your hobbies, and I enjoy them all. What is your favorite sport? My favorite is... Oh My!
Again, I should not tell you. Well, it was nice meeting you.

Keep in touch,
Mr.NY

Dear Jaden,

I don't have a blog, but when I do I'll have a hockey mascot with my favorite jersey that it is going to have a Black Hawks on it. The team jersey I choose is the Black hawks jersey because my whole families like the team. That is the reason why I choose the Black hawks.

I have questions for you:

Did you have a different mascot ?

Would you chosen a hockey player of a soccer player?

From,
Misha

Hi Jaden,
I'm in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class. Thank you so much for your great comment. My blog doesn't have a mascot yet but I think it might need one. I have met Panda from Mrs. Yollis's blog and he seems to really help you guys out in your videos. Maybe if I had a mascot he would help me improve my blog. It always helps to have someone there to talk through your ideas with. If you have some time you are welcome to visit my blog. I would love some suggestions on a possible mascot!

Best Wishes to you and Mr. California,
Megan Simmons

Dear Jaden,

Thank you so much for commenting on my class blog. I teach young men and women who want to be teachers. Megan Simmons, who left you the comment just above this one, is one of my students.

I think blogging is an important educational tool. The work you are doing with your blog will inspire, I hope, my students to use blogs when they start teaching.

Now I will answer your questions: The University of South Alabama mascot is a jaguar. I do not have a mascot for the EDM310 Class Blog but I think that would be a very good idea.

Best wishes!

Dear Mr. California,
What a pleasure to be on Jaden's Awesome Blog!!! I loved meeting your friends and your interests! Jaden, I do not have a mascot yet on my blog, but now that you mention it, I think that it is a great idea and very creative! I love seeing what others have on their blogs to make it unique and their own. I have been reading other posts that you have posted and have loved reading your blog. I am a student in Mobile, Alabama at the University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class. I read what you wrote to our class on our class blog and think that you being able to comment on college level blogs just shows how intelligent you are! Thank you so much for sharing and I have loved having the opportunity to read your blog. Take care, Nell Broughton

Hi my name is Olivia Bush. I am college student at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama in the United States. I am working on a degree in Elementary Education and I am taking a class called EDM 310. It is a technology class for teachers. I have a blog that you can check out at http://busholiviaedm310.blogspot.com/. I will be writing a post about your blog and some others that I have read at the end of this month.

Thank you Jaden for sharing your mascot, Mr. California! He looks so cool and sounds like he is a very busy chipmunk. How do you keep up with him? I really like your idea of a blog mascot. I think if I decide to have a blog mascot I would use an elephant. They are my favorite animal. I think this is a great idea for my future students in my class. I can’t wait to use it!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on your blog and your mascot. I wish you and Mr. California the best in school and all you do.

Hello Jaden and Mr. California!

My name is Alexa Howie and I'm a student in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. It is so nice to meet both of you! You have given me such a great idea! Before now, I didn't even think about having a mascot. After reading Mr. California's post, I know I need to have one. Dixie, my pet dog, would like to thank you for giving me the idea because she is the mascot for my blog. Her hobbies are very similar to Mr. California's!
Great job on making such a fun post! I look forward to reading more of your posts!

Sincerely,
Alexa Howie

Well hello Mr. Jaden! I am very excited to be assigned to read and respond on your blog. You have an some extremely great and fun ideas. The concept of having a blog mascot is fantastic. It shows that you have a creative humorous personality. It is certainly always helpful to everyone to have someone to give them ideas that may be out of our "normal box." You have inspired me think about who I could have as the mascot of my blog. Keep up the great work on your blog.

Jaden,

I must be honest... I am a little jealous Mr. CA is your awesome blog's mascot. I've been trying to get my antarctic friend's mascot's cousin's best friend to be my blog's mascot. (That was a thinker huh?) Anyway, his name is Toby. He's a penguin. Penguins are my favorite (no offense to Mr. CA).
Mr. CA and I would get along very well, in fact. We enjoy all of the same hobbies. Hopefully if Toby decides to chose my blog (fingers crossed) our blog mascots can be friends! They should start a club actually. I'm sure Mr. California will be a great help to your blog posts.

Good luck to you both!

Dear Jaden,

Thank you for such a wonderful post! My name is Jessica Brown and I am one of the students in Dr. Strange’s EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama. This post was very original because I did not know that there were blog mascots! I really enjoyed meeting Mr. California and I liked the picture you posted of him. I always thought that chipmunks were very small because they are the smallest of the squirrel family, but did you know that they can be as tall as 11 inches? I have learned a lot about chipmunks because of your mascot. I found most of my information from the National Geographic website about chipmunks.

I wanted to also thank you for posting some of the links to the other mascots’ pages. I do not have a blog mascot yet, but now I am thinking about getting one. I am a big fan of hippopotamuses. They are by far my favorite animals! I was thinking about having Hannah the Hippo as my mascot. What do you think about the name? I also like the names Harriet, Harpo, and Hadley. I just learned the other day when hippos get angry or stressed their sweat turns red! I just thought I would share that with you because I thought it was extremely interesting. I would love to hear what you think about my mascot ideas for my page, and if you would like to visit my page to see if she would work, feel free to anytime. I also have a few book trailers and other videos that you may like.

Keep up the great work on your blog! It looks amazing!

Sincerely,
Jessica Brown

Hello Jaden!

My name is Matthew Poirier and I'm a student in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class at the University of Alabama. I've been navigating your blog and your class blog (which I have commented on just yesterday, in fact) in addition to looking at the comments you left us, and let me just say that it was so kind of you and your fellow classmates (and Mrs. Yollis!) to thank the EDM310 students for our comments. WE should thank YOU! I've never seen such etiquette online before, and it was very kind of you all.

Your post for your Blog Mascot, Mr. California, is so ingenuitive! I was out for a jog this morning and I ran into a playful canine friend; I think if I were to have a mascot for my blog, my newfound friend would be perfect! This was a very good idea. Best of luck Mr. California, and to you too, Jaden! Happy Blogging, and have a Happy Easter.

Hi Jaden,
I'm a student at the University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class. My blog used to have a mascot that was a Koala Bear. His name is Dr. Ears McGee, but I let another friend of mine borrow him for a little while. I miss him, but Im glad that someone else gets to enjoy him for their blog also.

Best Wishes to you and Mr. California,

Hey Jaden,

My name is Brandon and I am one of the students in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class at The University of South Alabama. My blog does not have a mascot, but if I had to choose one, I would choose my stuffed jaguar named SouthPaw. SouthPaw is named after my school's mascot who happens to be a jaguar with the same name. He came to live with me when I first started college! He is brown with spots all over and big, blue eyes!

You are doing a great job on your blog! I hope that you, and Mr. CA, have a great remainder of the school year!

Warmly,

Brandon M. Caten

Hello Mr. California!
My name is Miles, and I'm a student in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class. My blog actually doesn't have a mascot! I think that's a problem that needs to be fixed immediately! If I were to choose a mascot, it would have to be Mr. Chompers. He's an alligator from Key Largo in Florida who likes to relax in the sun and swim all day.
I really like how you mentioned the other friends you have on other blogs Mr. California! That is a great way to help others get to know more about you and your classroom friends! Thank you so much for posting and I hope to see more of your quality blogging soon!

Hi Jaden,

My name is Paige and I am from Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. First, I would like to thank you for writing such a quality post. I've commented on quite a few student blogs before and I rarely come across blogs of this caliber. I hope you know how important it is to put forth this much effort into everything you do but especially when it is online for all to see. I have never heard of a blog mascot. Was a chipmunk your first choice? I have always thought it was fascinating how they have special mouth pouches designed just for carrying extra food! All this talk about blog mascots, is making me want one myself! What do you think? I think I'll get a white faced capuchin monkey named Jacques Cousteau! It is my favorite animal! Maybe your squirrel and my white faced capuchin monkey can get together and play tennis! I'm also very impressed by the fact that you mentioned your favorite blogs, now those who comment on your blog will have a chance to comment on others. Thanks again for the great post!

Paige

Dear EDM310,

Thank you all for commenting on my blog. I am so excited that I'm getting comments from students at the university of South Alabama. Every teacher should have a blog in the next few years in my opinon. I'm very glad to hear that you all have blogs!

Another opinion of mine is that every blog should have a mascot. 4/6 of the student blogs in my class have a mascot, and I hope that the other two will make one soon. If you do get a mascot, please tell me so Mr. CA could meet them. If you liked this post I reccomend going to the post right above this one to hear a story about Mr. CA.

From,
Jaden

Dear Jaden,

I do not have a mascot for my blog. If I did have a mascot it would be a Greggalope. Do you remember where we saw Greggalopes?

Love,

Dad

Jaden said...

@ Dad,

I think you should get a mascot on your blog. Also, I do not even remember who the Greggalopes are, so how would I remember where we saw them? Who were they? Where did we see them play?

From,
Jaden

Gregg said...

Dear Jaden,

The Greggalopes were an animal at Animal Kingdom in Orlando that looked like an antelope. You kept asking Mommy and me, "What is that" so I told you it was a Greggalope. I believe when we were on the safari bus you even pointed one out and told the bus, "There is a Greggalope".

Dear Jaden,

Now that you know what a Greggalope is, should it be my blog mascot?
